There is so much to praise Talk Small for with their debut show ‘Katherine and Pierre.’ This show was so good I saw it twice in Edinburgh and wish I had gone three times.

What Talk Small does dramaturgically with Katy Perry’s music and lyrics whilst curating a moving story arc is simply genius. The joy the audience can have from this show yet also be wildly blown away by their talent in storytelling – can remind anyone why going to the theatre is such a goddamn pleasure and why the fringe is so special. Bobbie Twaddle and Ellie Begley’s energy on stage is unmatched and like no other – they are both incredibly exciting creatives and powerful performers.

This nomination is more than deserved and I truly hope they win as this truly is the recognition they deserve with such a showstopping debut like this. And if not – to anyone reading this comment – keep an eye out for Talk Small for all your queer, dance, physical theatre, clown, drag and camp dreams. If they know how to throw this much of a party with a powerful punch now, what they will do in the future is beyond exciting.
