I had the pleasure and honour to see this outstanding production years ago when Susanna first toured the UK. Only wish I could have seen it again. Skilful delivery of beautiful writing. Amazing talent, tragedy and comedy. Bringing joy, laughter and tears. Completely spellbound.
I saw this show in Winchester just before it travelled north. Wow! It was amazing. How could one person tell such a story as King Lear? And yet she did! And made us laugh!
I have seen this piece six times and each time it is amazing-fresh, brilliant and am able to catch something that had not the previous performance. Susanna is just a magnificent actor!! I will see it again as soon as I can.
The only play that I have enjoyed so much that I had to see it again – and, given the chance, would do so again and again. Not being a great fan of Shakespeare’s “Lear” I was skeptical but Susanna Hamnet brings this play to life in her own, amazing, inimitable way. It deserves every award going.
I have had the privilege to grow up with this show and watch it change and develop over the years. In each version and stage of creation this play has been magic and has touched the hearts of so many people around the world. It is a beautiful piece of art and damn good storytelling and I know that it has a long life ahead of it.
Simply fabulous show! Stellar performance, brilliantly written and acted, accessible and spellbinding!
