Congratulations, Theatre Re. I can’t think of a more worthy nominee.
Wow! This nomination is so well deserved. A production that is innovative in every way – structure, style, content, design, and soundtrack. It takes on the very challenging (but increasingly relevant) subject of dementia, and as well as overwhelming emotional highs and lows, it provides a deep insight into the real experience of this devastating condition.
I came to London all the way from Reno, NV to attend the Mime Festival, and to see physical theater performance. Within a few minutes of this show starting, I thought, “yes! This is why I am here! To see something that is alive and moving and meaningful and so very beautiful.” The Nature of Forgetting is on my list of top three best performances I’ve ever seen. It was captivating from start to finish and made me feel less alone as a caretaker for a grandparent with dementia.
This is a ‘must see’ show! Absolutely one of the best shows I ever saw at the Edinburgh Festival! Beautifully and imaginatively crafted and seamlessly produced it takes a heart rending journey through the development of dementia and it’s effect on the family. I can’t think of a better word to describe it than has already been used..captivating from start to finish!
An outstanding piece of multilayered poetic and humanity-laden physical theatre. This is ensemble Theatre (with a capital T) at its greatest.
I was lucky enough to see this production in the North West – absolutely incredible choreography, I really loved the performance – thank you!
