In 2018, OffWestEnd brought back a “real” awards event, attracted over 300 people to The Albany in Deptford. This carried on the tradition of awards events that had been held at the Unicorn Theatre, Battersea Arts Centre, Theatre Royal Stratford East and Wiltons Music Hall.
From 2015-17, the ceremony was a “cyber” ceremony, mainly via Twitter, with the tweeting led by high profile figures – Sir Ian McKellen in 2016 and Sir Patrick Stewart in 2017. These cyber ceremonies were followed by a “winners party“.
